About Rapid Welding and Industrial Supplies Ltd.

Rapid Welding & Industrial Supplies Ltd started trading as a welding distributor working from an industrial unit on the Portchester Park Industrial Estate, Hampshire, on 1 April 1990.

The company was set up by Mr R D Edwards, an Aircraft Approved Welder, and Mr R P Edwards, a Ministry Approved Senior Design Engineer, and is still privately owned by them. With modern offices and proper storage facilities, Rapid at its inception employed 7 people and was becoming recognised as a serious and professional welding distributor. More sales staff were soon necessary to give coverage to an expanding area and to cement Rapid's position in the south as a leading welding distributor.

In 2013 Rapid teamed up with Plymovent, who are a global, leading supplier of products, systems and services for the extraction and filtration of polluted indoor air. Both companies are passionate about providing clean air solutions to the welding industry. Rapid Welding and Plymovent are committed to ensure a clean, safe and healthy working environment for their customers.

Roy and Rob attribute the continued success of Rapid to having a great team of dedicated staff. Without their concerted efforts the continued growth would not be possible and sustainable.
